So for the first time in 40 years I’ve been able to go without cigarette’s and you have a problem with that? The fact that I am addicted to nicotine is really not any of your business and if I have found a way to feed my addiction and poison my body less why exactly do you care? You’re relieved when smoking is banned but now that there is a product which can replace smoking you’re so upset by this turn of events that you must blog about it. I’m not exactly sure what your agenda is but please keep your uninformed and prejudicial thoughts to yourself.

LOL, if you’re going to pretend to be two different people, you have to try harder “steve”. The browser remembers your name…

Steve version 1: you don’t buy a “pack” of e-cigs, it doesn’t work that way. Batteries don’t come as capsules, they are integrated into the e-cig body. Nor can the batteries “keep leaking”, since they are LiIon chemistry.

i think that you’re onto a very important issue here. There has indeed been a severe “regulatory blackhole” with respect to these cigarettes escaping full bodied scrutiny. All those protesters who campaigned for the smoking ban must be feeling pretty aggrieved right now at the current state of affairs. As an ex-smoker i know how annoying it is to be lectured about cigarettes but people on here just ranting aimlessly about your article is rather pointless, petty and rather pedantic to the extreme. and whilst i agree with some of your queries Kezza, your dismissal of patches are flawed. they DO work and are clinically proven to curb ones addiction in the long-run. imitating the art of smoking could potentially stir up times of lighting up normally and that surely isn’t a good thing.

i do think its crucial that we examine this a bit more extensively. cigarettes are, generally accepted, a controversial substance. the fact that electronic cigarettes had been made were a complete mystery to me and for this alone, i thank you for publishing some much needed knowledge, no matter the current disputing!

I have to say that I agree with all of the points raised by the previous reply. This article was clearly a poorly written, attention-seeking attempt at ‘shock-value’ with little or no research into the subject, or actual facts to back up its claims.
I can only hope that anybody reading this, see it for the rubbish that it is.
